Quick answers
Q&A
What people ask us most, answered plainly.
What does Shockara do?
A free reading site from The Nelson M Group LLC. Shockara walks through auto insurance information in everyday words, with no sign-up needed to read.
Is there a calculator that shows my price?
No. We do not calculate prices. We explain what usually moves a premium so you can ask insurers sharper questions.
Do you connect me with agents?
No. No agent will call because of this site. We do not refer or match anyone to companies.
Do I have to agree to texts?
No. Texts are optional, with one unchecked box. You can sign up without ticking it.
Is Shockara an insurance company, agent or broker?
No. We do not sell insurance and we are not licensed to, and nothing here is insurance, legal or financial advice.
Can I ask you to erase what I sent?
Click unsubscribe in any email, or write to [email protected] and ask us to delete your information.
What if I want the texts to end?
Reply STOP to any text. Reply HELP for help. You can also email [email protected].
Do I have to give a phone number, email or ZIP code?
Not at all. Email, mobile number and ZIP code are optional, so the form needs just your name, your topic and the privacy checkbox.
Is Shockara affiliated with a driving-data app?
No. We do not collect driving data and are not connected to any insurer or app.
Do you handle claims or roadside help?
No. For a claim or roadside assistance, contact your insurer directly, and call 911 if anyone is hurt.
What happens after I sign up?
Plain-language educational information on the topic you choose, by email if you give one. If you opt in to texts, you also get short texts pointing to the same guides.
Is my information sold?
No. We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with insurers, agents, quote sites or any other partners. The Privacy Policy covers how we handle what you send.
What is the message frequency?
Not often. Message frequency varies, topping out around 8 a month, and message and data rates may apply.
Can you tell me why my premium changed?
No. Only your insurer can say what changed on your own policy. The guides explain the usual reasons.
